Weekend Recap & Upcoming Week 3/30/2009

This past weekend the Queen City Rams took on Denver University in a friendly recruiting match.  The match was moved to DU’s lacross stadium due to the recent snow.  Kick off was at 6:30pm and the fast paced match began.  The boys did an excellent job of keeping things clean against the second college side of the year.  At the end of the frantic paced match the Rams came away 34-19 winners.  Tries were scored by Chris Gustafson, Eddie Lopez, Doug James and I believe some one else.

Queen City had great games from our new players, Dee Gordan (Fullback), Eddie Lopez (Hooker, Prop), Dustin Ruspini (Wing), Pete McKeown (Hooker), Luke Porter (Wing), David Pollan (Inside Center), Chris Oufnac (Flanker).  Other standout performances were put in by Chirs Gustafson, Kimuli Nteva, Chris Aardal and man of the match Nick Lubeck.  Great work boys!

This week we continue to train at Jacobs Park, we will be back on the main rugby pitch.  We need to get everyone out to training to prepare for Boulder this weekend.  We saw that our fitness faded a bit in the second half against DU.  Also we need to have everyone together to run drills, so we continue to make strides in our matches.

Great job on the weekend and lets keep it going this week!!!

Cheers,

Mathew Berry
